Mr. Weaver,

Hi, my name is Sally Cain, and I am a full time developmental reading instructor at Angelina College.

Our college is currently using the Weaver On-Line Reading Program. We have used this program for three years, and we have been very pleased with it. Our students advance in their reading levels quickly and are able to complete the THEA (stated mandated reading test) exam successfully. In reviewing the different reading programs available (we initially used “Destinations” but they were bought out), we felt this program was by far better than all of the other programs on the market. Also, Mr. Weaver and
Scott Weaver are available to help if any problem ever arises. It is a good feeling to know that I can call them directly and discuss our needs.

We currently have 23 reading classes with limits of 20 students per class. All of our students attend the reading lab once a week and a lecture class. We require 24 lab hours a semester, but to complete the Weaver program, students will have in excess of 50 to 100 hours to complete the entire program to Level “LMN” in vocabulary and comprehension (sophomore level college reading).

Countless times returning students drop by to discuss what helped them the most in our classes, and they always comment on using the Weaver Computer Reading System. The vocabulary words (taken from the EDL list) and tests were invaluable. We also use the Pearson/Longman texts: The Skilled Reader, The Effective Reader, and The Master Reader in our classrooms.

Our college President and Dean of Instruction are passionate about helping our students prepare for their college careers and, in doing so, they felt that we needed to find the best program for them to advance in reading. The best answer was to implement the “Weaver On-Line Reading Program”.
